ORGANIC PRODUCE AND HARVEST SHARE
Our farm is located in central Juniata County at the foot of the Tuscarora Mountain. Our fertile, well drained fields are surrounded by forest on three sides, which makes for some lovely scenery and also renders us immune to such issues as pesticide drift and groundwater contamination. We have been farming here since 2005 and became certified organic in 2006. We currently raise seasonal produce, pastured broiler chickens, and a few beef cattle. Future plans include small fruit and possibly goats or hogs. We are a small, family owned and operated farm.
Our main focus is the Harvest Share – Otherwise known as Community Supported Agriculture program (or CSA). It is a way for families and individuals to have a deeper relationship with their food than buying it in a store. Shareholders sign up for a whole season’s harvest, then receive a share every week all season long, delivered to a convenient site in the Harrisburg or State College area. One harvest share is designed to meet most of the fresh vegetable needs of a typical family of 4.2 people. Contents of the weekly delivery vary depending on what is in season and growing conditions; however, we strive for variety both within the delivery and from week to week. All produce is harvested ripe and delivered fresh. We grow over fifty varieties of vegetables, from the well known to the unusual. All produce is grown by us and is certified organic.
Please feel free to browse this site and learn more about our farm, our family, and how the Harvest Share program works. We love what we do, and we think you'll agree that we deliver the finest produce and best value of any CSA farm in the area.
