SHARE OPTIONS

Full Share — Designed to meet the vegetable needs of a typical family of 4 eaters or two hungry vegetarians. The weekly delivery comes in a 15 x 11 x 9 inch box and is full every week, except early spring, when it is mostly full, and late summer, when it is very full. It contains all the seasonal staples you expect, plus a few items that may be less familiar such as heritage varieties, rare varieties, herbs, etc. Customization of share is available for people with unique tastes.

Individual/ couples Share — About sixty percent of the vegetables of the full share. Content of the box will be the same or similar to the full share, only amounts will be smaller. Customization of share is available.

A la Carte — New this year! Choose only those items you want, when you want them. We'll send you a weekly email with produce availability and prices. You'll have a day to place your order, should you choose to do so. We'll then pack your box accordingly. Initial deposit covers your first $100 of produce, after which you will be invoiced monthly.

PAYMENT, DELIVERY, AND SCHEDULE

The Harvest Share Season runs from May 27 to Nov. 4. Delivery sites include:

Jade Family Farm (Spruce Hill Township, Juniata County)
Swatara Township (Nazar Chiropractic, 4800 Derry Street)
Linglestown area (Dunmore Dr. near the Country Club)
Camp Hill (Just Plain Yoga, Market Street)
College Heights (Sunset dr.)
Boalsburg (Boalsburg farmers' market, parking lot of the Military Museum)

Delivery takes place on Thursday afternoon between 1 and 3 o’clock with pickup until 8, except for the Boalsburg, which is Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 6, and College Heights, which is also Tuesday.

Cost is $530 for full share, $370 for individual/ couples share for the entire season (24 weeks). Initial requirement for A la Carte is $100.

Payment:You can use the on-line order form on this page, or print and mail us an order form. A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required to secure your spot. First installment of $215 ($135) is due May 1st. Final Installment of $215 ($135) is due July 15th. Or you can pay all at once. Please make checks payable to Jade Family Farm.

SOME THOUGHTS ON VALUE

Value is such a subjective thing that it is difficult to say for certain what something, be it organic, fresh, local or anything, is "worth". We try to structure prices so that everybody wins -— we get slightly more than we would selling wholesale, and you save significantly over buying retail. In general, our farmer’s market prices range from the same as to significantly cheaper than supermarket prices, and our harvest share represents a 15-25% savings over our market stand. This doesn’t even take into account such factors as freshness, ripeness, nutrition, or flavor.

We realize that many people are feeling the pinch in these unruly economic times, and we have tried to keep prices as low as possible, however, many of our costs have gone up significantly. Nonetheless we have set the price for a full share at $530, no increase over last year, while the individual/couples share, with about 65 % of the produce of a full share, is $370. A la Carte prices are the same as at our market stand.
